On Friday Tony Stewart caught a break when the rain cancelled the qualifying session and he was granted the pole position for Sunday’s Pocono 500. However on Saturday Stewart experienced a tough break when he damaged his primary No. 14 Chevrolet which forced him to enter his back up car for the 500 mile event. This in return put Stewart at the back of the pack in the 43rd position when the green flag dropped.
“We were in here Friday talking about how good of a weekend it started off being by getting a pole due to the rainout. But I found a way to screw that up on Saturday and just lost it off of 2, and because of that, we had to start last today and we just had a great race car,” said Stewart who led 39 laps.
