A crazy, crazy day of racing at the IndyCar Series first trip north of the boarder to the streets of Toronto for the Honda Indy. A total of eight cars did not finish the 85 lap event which displayed a huge amount of passing and contact for a street race.

“That is what I call a race,” said Will Power.

On the very first lap Graham Rahal cut the tire of Power’s which put both on an off sequence strategy right from the get-go, Ryan Briscoe also suffered a flat tire on the same lap. Due to the large pit window drivers were able to go all out and not worry about saving fuel, which only added to the excitement for the fans.

Dario Franchitti struggled in the later stages of his runs, he “checked out” on the field early on, but the caution periods bunched everyone together again on numerous occasions. “ I was asking a bit much of them towards the end there,” Franchitti said. The Scotsman won his third race of the season, 11th in the IndyCar series, not to mention his second win in Toronto after his first win came in CART 10 years prior. Read more...
